17 March 2013 Members of the UK Tatar Association took part in the 6th Annual Forum of Russian Compatriots UK, which focused on the development of humanitarian potential of the Russian community and the election of new members of the Russian Council. Welcoming speech to the participants were addressed by: The representative of the Russian Embassy in the UK – Artyom Kozhin. Displaying video-speech RF president’s special for International Cultural Relations – Mikhail Shvydkoi. Guests – representatives of the Russian-speaking organisations in Great Britain and Europe. Forum organisers spoke about the work that have carried out and new projects. The Forum proposed the creation and development of a new direction to work with compatriots – the Foundation for the protection of the rights of compatriots. The Russian Council Aina Mamaeva reported that recently Foudation managed to win the case for the return of the child into the family of our Russian compatriots in city of New-Castle upon Tyne. There was a discussion on sectors: cultural, educational, human rights, working with municipalities, economic. Members of the UK Tatar Association Laysan Salyakhova and Emma Sabanovic attended the hearing procedural discussion of creating of All Economic Advisory Council of Russian Compatriots in Europe. The meeting was held by Nikolai Ivanovich Zhdanov-Lutsenko, Director of “Department of International and Foreign Economic Relations”, Moscow House of Compatriots, Russian Federation. The new committee of the Russian Council for a two years term, have been elected:
Aina Mamaeva, Alexander Saliy, Nikita Lobanov, Olga Balakleets, Eugeniya Terentyeva, Azamat Sultanov, Xenia Sysak, Ramil Minullin Alexander Syshenko. After the meeting a banquet and a bright concert were held, and in the final – active representatives of compatriots were presented with an award of the “Successful compatriot”.
