History note:

This remained poster informs on a holiday of 1926:
“Central commission on carrying out a holiday of Spring and Sabantuy. City holiday of Spring.
Citizens! We, citizens, have the opportunity to celebrate spring – it gave us courage and strength. Let’s not forget the starving village, we will encourage and we will support it.
Citizen! Affording the well deserved rest and small pleasure, you support the hungry today.
Tomorrow everywhere it is cheerful, crowded and festively”.
In it “the grandiose program” Tatar festivity the “Sabantuy”, including races on horses, boats, bicycles, fight, sea battles on Kaban Lake, paid flights on airplanes over river Volga and city of Kazan is published. It was reported and about draw of “a grandiose lottery” which main prizes were: coal-coke, 800 pieces of a tile for a roof covering, etc.
All collecting from the organisation of a holiday, was directed to fund of the commission of Pomgol (The help to the starving people) to TAT central executive committee and for starving students of Kazan. By the chief of garrison it was authorised free festivities around the city all night long.
In spite of the fact that holiday politicisation, and “the Sabantuy of Tatarstan” in 1925 every year is noticed, Tatrepablic dated for the 5th anniversary, opened tiresome meeting, national games and competitions, fun continue to take a leading place in the program.
And batyrs among children come to light already. It is remarkable that on a Sabantuy of 1926 race horses from all cantons are attracted. The program joins performance cavalry squadron of Tatar-bashkir military school with display of exercises on becoming a dzhigit and the higher school of riding, parade of group of athletes and even performance of a bear fighter which to the applause of the audience causes all wishing to measure swords force. In a word, organisers aspire, proceeding from pressing issues, to enrich the maintenance of a holiday.
Preparation for a holiday served as incentive of increase of creative activity of the population, especially to youth. So, in the twenties in the village paid theatre performances were put, and the raised funds were allocated for the Sabantuy organisation. “As now I remember, – the veteran of work G. Ismagilov writes, – in 1926 when there was no club in the village, we acted with performance in madrasah. All money gained from performance went on carrying out a Sabantuy.
